Collaboration with Birgit Severin

A long narrow mirror is partially obscured by a screen of vertical stripes. The spacing of the stripes is such, that the same sections of the mirror cannot be seen with both eyes simultaneously. This effectively disrupts binocular vision, making the scene appear unnaturally flat. Walking past the installation, one’s own reflection is overlaid with a flickering effect reminiscent of grainy old films.
