A long, narrow mirror is partially obscured by a screen of vertical stripes. The spacing between the stripes is such, that the same sections of the mirror cannot be seen with both eyes simultaneously, disrupting binocular vision and making the scene appear unnaturally flat. Walking past, one’s reflection is overlaid with a flickering effect reminiscent of grainy old films.
