Graphic artworks for exterior of six 'Winter Pavilions', MuseumsQuartier Wien, Austria
Pavilions each: 306 x 1025 x 507 cm

The project started with a simple idea of architecture in snowfall. Exterior surfaces of the pavilions were wrapped in representations of Viennese street scenes, overlayed with smoke patterns and textures such as bone marrow or waste, dissolving the rigid contours. Vivid colours and irregular patterns mimicked the logic of histological sections: snow interferes with common perceptions of the city, but offers new glimpses into its inner workings.

Invited competition, winner, comissioned by MQW and selected by Q21, Kunstalle Wien and the Leopold Museum.
