A treadwheel crane built inside an agricultural barn, shortly before hundreds of thousands of tonnes of grain would fill it, once again, during the next harvest. Similar machines were used since the times of ancient Greeks, helping to erect walls and cathedrals around the world. A treadwheel functions as a large winch, requiring a person to walk inside it in order to lift the load, in this case a frame modelled on the barn’s entrance gate.
