Setting up a temporary studio in the exhibition space, the workshop brought together artists and architects who did do not yet know each other, in a new place, for a week of physical brainstorming. Focusing on the process of place-making as emblematic of human agency in general, and based around model-making, it especially aimed to probe into the unexpected, the personal and the irrational impulses which influence decisions about the future. It also emphasised elements arising from the situation of making, such as the place, the team, and the time span of the workshop.
