At the beginning of the festival, two artists and two architects begin designing a building that could house an artist's studio. Over the course of three days, a trail of paper models is arranged on a wooden trestle, colour-coded according to when they were created.
Festival of Future Nows was organised by the Institut für Raumexperimente / Berlin University of the Arts and hosted by the Neue Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. The festival’s program of performances, sculptures, talks, and installations was held in and around the exhibition “Sticks and Stones” by David Chipperfield, an intervention in dialogue with the architecture of Mies van der Rohe.
